December 2010
So, this is the New Year.
I dislike the thought of having a “New Years Resolution” because I don’t think a new year should be the reason to change yourself. If you want to change yourself, you should just do it. But, I suppose that the new year does pose some sort of initiative to change.
My “New Years Resolution” I guess is:
1) Become closer to God. For a believer, I think this is a pretty...
"Is there a God?" "Yeah, of course there is." "How...
I think people care too much about life.
You say you wanna be set free? Well, I’m told that can only come from a union with the One who never dies.
Open wide my door, my Lord, to whatever makes me love You more.
Could you imagine...
…everyone in the world being different. No one follows a “trend,” people like what they like and don’t let what others like influence what they like. That would be so crazy. Life in general would be so much more interesting.
I'm really starting to enjoy music like:
Skrillex, Deadmau5, & Ratatat.
Hello new musical horizons! (Wow, that sounded lame.)
Now, if only I could get into jazz…
Woe to You ( )
Hey kids be different, break the status quo. We are so good at talking, i wonder if we are better at gnashing our teeth? you are not. Sons and daughters live for something more than material. Brothers, Sisters, and everyone in between. This world lies. straight face. You’re not your trophies. You’re not your wallet. You’re not the paycheck you desperately work for. ...
I'm listening too...
Skrillex and Sonny Moore’s solo stuff. It’s been a while.
I just gotta slow down and keep it real.
12/8/10: P.O.S.
I try not to seclude myself to particular genres of music. So I’m going to try to include a variety of genres into this blog. So today, I want to recommend my favorite hip hop artist, Stefon Alexander. Better known as P.O.S. He’s a 29 year old from Minnesota who started hip hop career in 2001. He has out 5 albums including one released in 2009 titled “Never Better”, which...
12/7/2010: Harvard
Jesse : Vocals
Tim : Drums
Garrett : Bass
Lee - Guitar
Jason: Guitar
I had a previous post about this band, but they are one of my favorite bands are the moment, so I figured this was a good place to start. Harvard is an experimental/indie rock band out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Their debut release titled “The Inevitable and I” is one heck of an album....
I think...
I’m going to turn this into a music-based blog. I love music and good bands deserve people spreading the word about them. There will still be random, little thoughts here and there, and perhaps a goody picture or two.
This world focuses far too much on people and not nearly enough on God.
